NATIONAL CBD MONTH  │ HOW THC AND CBD INTERACT IN THE BODY

Share this post with your friends

January is National CBD Month and Paradise Hills Store Manager, Samuel Martinez took the time to write about how THC and CBD interact in the body.

When it comes to Cannabis our customers’ most common question is the THC percentage. However, one of the most common misconceptions when it comes to THC and CBD combined, in addition to the ways it affects the body as a whole, can be the amount of psychoactive qualities that are desired. Regardless of which type of customer we are advising, everyone seems to believe you have to live on one side of the spectrum or the other, extreme high potency or extreme low. The blessing is that there is something for everyone. We are more alike than what is perceived and as humans we naturally have what is called an endocannabinoid system that has the ability to send certain signals from the brain to the body. THC is more so the piece that controls the psychoactive effect, while CBD is able to bind with the receptors of the brain and body in specific ways that we need it to.

When it comes to humans, there are what are called CB1 and CB2 receptors that are designed to delegate, alleviate, and regulate certain parts of the body such as hunger, mood, sleep, and even immune system function. The body can be  a wall of electricity – CBD as the current, and THC as the plug. When put together, it creates an enhanced experience known as the “Entourage Effect”. This effect may provide the best of both worlds and can allow us to experience every beneficial part of cannabis.

When it comes to specific products, there are many ways to get a desired effect. Everest carries  products that can specifically tailor to what is needed. For edibles there are 1:1 Strawberry Margarita Wana Gummies, or our 4:1 CBD to THC ratio True Relief Capsules that utilize MCT Oil as well as distillate, there is a Mary Jane Medicinal Topical that can be used for anything such as pain relievers to even lip balm. There are even Martha Stewart CBD Products such as oil drops and gummies that all help with inflammation, anxiety and other forms of alleviation. If you are more into  cartridges or flower, there are strains that also may have these properties.

In conclusion, THC is merely one part of a much bigger picture. Our bodies are naturally connected with Cannabis in ways that first begin with the endocannabinoid system. So the next time you visit an Everest Dispensary please be sure to not only ask what the effects are but also ask about Terpenes, as well as the CBD to THC ratio to experience which may get you the most out of your flower.
