- Get a hygrometer and check the conditions of your grow space, like temperature and humidity, before you start. This will help you determine the stability of your expected grow space
- Ideal conditions for a flowering plant: Aim for a stable indoor environment with a steady temperature between 78-82 degrees and around 40% relative humidity. Make sure to use fans to get air movement in your grow space.
- Use low-wattage High Intensity Discharge (HID) lights you’ve purchased at your local indoor grow shop – these are optimal for growing indoors without much modification to your room.
- Use a grow media with a good amount of nutrient value, such as the brands Ocean Forest or Roots Organics, to get you through your first month or two of veg. Then try a very basic 1 to 2 part nutrient system for your flowering phase.
- There are two options for obtaining your plants: starting from seed, which requires more patience and hunting for the characteristics that are important to you, or starting from a clone, which will help you hit the ground running faster. Try buying an Everest clone from a strain you’ve tried before and enjoyed.
- For helpful information, read the book “Grower’s Bible” by Jorge Cervantes. This one of the very first books I read when I started in the industry.
