Discover Everest Cannabis Co. – Sunland Park: A Journey to New Heights
Lizzette Marquez, our Store Director, has been an integral part of the Everest Sunland Park Dispensary since its inception. “Our dispensary opened its doors on 4/20/22, nestled near the Texas state line, making it a gateway to both the Texas and New Mexico markets,” she recalls.
The location was strategically chosen to serve as a bridge between two states, and it stands in an area filled with attractions like a casino and an amusement park. It’s no surprise that the Everest Sunland Park Dispensary quickly became a part of this vibrant community.
A Growing Presence
The Everest Sunland Park dispensary location has witnessed remarkable growth over the past year, and our 4/20 celebration marked one of our biggest milestones. Lizzette proudly reflects, “We had glassblowers outside, we had some fire dancers out there. We were able to have the community just come out and experience it for free.”
This celebration not only brought the community together, but also highlighted our commitment to offering more than just products. It showcased our dedication to creating an unforgettable experience for our customers.
In addition to creating positive experiences for our customers, we are also continuing to grow our product offerings. “We went from having people know us for a limited product selection to people seeing us grow and have an abundance of stuff. It’s been awesome seeing their excitement and our team’s excitement as we bring in new things,” explains Lizette.
A Unique Experience
What sets us apart from other dispensaries in the Sunland Park area? Lizzette believes that our emphasis on education and customer service is our secret sauce. She says, “I think the fact that a lot of our team came from medical marijuana dispensaries allowed us to get our budtenders really knowledgeable on the product and equipped them to better serve recreational customers and answer all the questions that they have.”
We know that our customers feel more empowered to make the best decisions for themselves when we’re able to provide them with all the information they need, whether that’s on methods of consumption, strains, terpenes, or flavors.
Embracing Change and Challenges
As we look to the future, Everest Sunland Park Dispensary is ready to tackle the challenges posed by the evolving cannabis landscape. With an increasing number of dispensaries opening their doors, competition is fierce. “The fire marshal has nicknamed this area Dispensary District because there are six on our block,” Lizette recounted. “Customers have to love their experience with you to come back.”
To stay competitive, we plan to continue offering exceptional customer service and top-quality products. Additionally, we’re exploring collaborations with smaller vendors to provide customers with unique and diverse options.
Community and Collaboration
We pride ourselves on being an integral part of the vibrant Sunland Park community and fostering collaboration with local talents and businesses. One example that has left an indelible mark on our journey is our collaboration with a gifted local artist, Janace Griffin, also known as JunkDredz.
Janace, an artist from El Paso, Texas, embarked on a unique mission to share her creative vision with dispensaries across the region. Her artistry has transcended boundaries and beautifully captured the essence of our signature strain, ‘Arise.’ Inspired by the uplifting and transformative experience our strain offers, Janace painted a captivating portrait of a woman immersed in the euphoria of our flower. The piece now hangs in our lobby, inviting all our valued customers to admire its beauty.

As we continue to grow and evolve, Everest Sunland Park Dispensary remains dedicated to supporting local artists, community schools, and small vendors, creating a space where talent and creativity thrive. We regularly invite our smaller vendors to set up in our store, providing them with a platform to showcase their products to our valued customers. We are also currently working on a school drive to support Sunland Park elementary schools, ensuring that we give back to the community that has embraced us.
