Crumble vs shatter, what’s the difference?
Cannabis shatter is an extract with a solid and translucent appearance—giving it a glass-like feel that literally looks as if you could shatter it. By using solvents like butane or other hydrocarbons, the shatter-esque effect is achieved. Since shatter’s composition is quite hard, it’s the perfect cannabis concentrate for dabbing and vaporizing.
Crumble, which is made using a similar process as shatter, is crafted with pre-purged oils that contain higher moisture levels, a different temperature, and thicker consistency. This produces the wax’s crumbly, cheese-like form once the purging process is completed. Unlike shatter, crumble is not ideal for dabbing, but will burn nicely on top of a bowl of cannabis flower.
