Interested in cannabis but don’t know where to begin? Or simply looking for a healthy and natural way to reduce aches, pain, insomnia, depression, and other ailments?
CBD is a great way to ease into cannabis use, educate yourself on different consumption methods, and teach yourself how and when to dose, without having to experience the psychoactive “high” typically associated with cannabis and its other main cannabinoid, THC. Everyone needs to start somewhere!
As a medical patient suffering from chronic pain, I was able to pick up a few products from Everest Cannabis Co.’s new line of CBD products and try them out. I was so happy with the results!
Here’s how I recommend adding CBD into your daily routine:
Morning:
Start your day with a Martha Stewart 10mg CBD gummy! If you take vitamins or supplements in the morning, grab a gummy while you’re at it. Having one in the morning helps me de-stress before heading into work and helps relieve any pain I have left over from my night of sleep.
I absolutely love the taste of these gummies (they’re currently available in mixed berry and citrus) and how sweet they are. Plus, I can easily pack the resealable bag into my purse or gym bag just in case I want another while I’m out and about.
Each bag comes filled with 10 gummies for a total of 100mg CBD per bag.
Afternoon:
As I finish up my workday, I like to sip on a Quatreau CBD drink. Everest currently carries all four CBD-only flavors: Blueberry + Acai, Passionfruit + Guava, Cucumber + Mint, and Ginger + Lime. These ready-made drinks are sugar-free and only contain 25 calories, which make them a much healthier alternative to soda.
Since each 12oz. can contains 20mg CBD, the neck and back pain I incur throughout my day of sitting at my desk, hunched over my computer screen, melts away. I also notice a bit of a lift in my mood and overall productivity, which helps me finish my workday strong at times where I might otherwise feel distracted or uninspired.
Everest also recently introduced the CENTR line of CBD sparkling waters. These are a great alternative if you are looking for something with an even stronger kick; both the regular and the sugar-free options contain 30mg CBD.
Night:
The Martha Stewart line of CBD oil drops are a great way to wind down the day and prepare for bedtime. The instructions on the packaging recommend taking this with food, so I have mine with dinner, sometimes even in a cup of hot tea if I really want to decompress and relax!
The oil drops can be found at Everest in the flavors Blood Orange, Meyer Lemon, and Unflavored (which is probably best for mixing in food or drinks, if that’s your plan). Each 1 oz. bottle contains 750mg of CBD, and each dropper full (one dose) is 25mg CBD. At night that’s a little too much for me, so I shoot for just half of a dropper, or 12.5mg CBD.
I’ve found that the oil drops calm my mind and help me drift off to sleep much easier. Gone are the days where I’m tossing and turning, thinking about everything I need to get done the next day, or trying to find a comfortable position where my neck and back aren’t killing me. Most of the time, I can sleep through the whole night and actually wake feeling refreshed in the morning!
Best of all, the flavor is subtle but delicious. My go-to is definitely the blood orange!
Anytime:
If you’re like me and prone to aches and pains that pop up throughout the day, I’d recommend the Aceso Heat and Cool balms for fast-acting relief. I use a small amount of the balm on my neck and back, and my pain is usually much more manageable within just 10 minutes. I usually reapply about an hour after my first application to make sure my pain stays away. Repeat as necessary!
Note: If you’re new to CBD, I’d recommend beginning with a dose of no more than 10mg of CBD to see how it affects you. Then, after waiting at least 30 minutes, slowly increase your dose until you reach your desired effect.
